Gabriella is now 10 months old and any day she is going to be walking by her self. So here is her walking with a walker. I just helped her for a sec. As you can she figured it out.

We have had an interesting year with Amie. For a year she decided to call Lleyton...Amie. She would even correct you if you called him Lleyton. As of a few months ago she finally decided to call him Lleyton. YEAH!!! Now she just likes to refer to her self in the third person. She also spent most of the year coloring on herself and my walls. So, glad that has stopped. (knock on wood).

Amie just loves books. Most kids sleep with stuffed animals. Not my Amie. Her choice of a snuggle buddies are books. I am aways removing her sleeping head from the crack of a book. Of course this one night I found her asleep with hangers on her arm.

Amie my monster is now Amie my princess. Don't know how it happed but she is such a girlie, girl. It is rare if she goes one day with out dressing up in her princess clothes. Just this past week she dressed up as Cinderella.

ME: aww, Amie the pretty princess.

Amie: I not a pretty princess!!! I Cinderella.

Me: oh, sorry.... Cinderella.

Later that same day. She looks at my phone and sees a picture of her.

Amie: Oh, look pretty princess Amie.

Me: Yeah, pretty princess Amie.

She is a silly one. I have even discovered dress up shoes in the feet of her pj's. I guess she wanted to dress up for her dreams????

Halloween 2010!!

WOW this is late. Opps!! Well better late then never! kids loved Halloween. Lleyton was Bumblebee, Amie was a butterfly and Brie was a duck. I forgot to take a picture of Brie (I'm such a horrid mom!!). We were going to go to our wards' Trunk or treat, but it rained so it was more of a trick or treat train in the church. But the kids didn't mind. They were in candy heaven. Lleyton really got in to Halloween this year. Mostly because of school. They made lots of Halloween crafts. So, for the first time in years our house had decorations for Halloween. I just love all the fun crafts that he does in school. Unfortunately this year he figured out what a trick is. So now he will lie about something and then say " Mom, I just tricking you!!". all November we couldn't go one day with out Lleyton Yelling boo!!!

Here are some other diapers I have tried.

<--Econobum covers (one size fits all) work fine. I got seconds for about 5 bucks and are happy with them but if you aren't buying seconds then spend the little extra and get a flip cover. I love the snaps, but wish it went a little smaller for a newborn.

<--Prowrap covers. I liked them at first (Before I knew better). The pull fabric that they use is thicker then some other covers. They are also one of the cheapest covers you can get. The down side is they don't fit that great. I have had some moisture on the seams. Not Cool. And the worst is the velcro. My daughter can take it right off and it doesn't have a laundry tab. so most of the time when you take them out of the dryer they are attached to my other diapers. REALLY not Cool!!

<--Pre-folds. They work great as long as you get the right kind for the right job. If you are only useing them as an insert for a pocket or just laying them in a cover the Indian or Chinese kind are fine. The size of the normal Indian or Chinese pre-folds are awful for pining on a baby. they are to long and to small. If you want to use the pre-folds by them selfs get GMD pre-folds (Greenmountaindiaper.com) they have pre-folds that will actually fit on a baby. I also love this web site because they give you lots of pictures of what the diapers look like on newborns and older babies.

<--Fitteds. I have bought a few from Little lion. They are fat and give your baby a huge bum. not Cute at all. they also take a long time to dry. So, I don't care for them. they are a alot more like a paper diaper. No folding required. just put on baby. They still need a cover.

<--All in ones. I have never tried. By far the most like a paper diaper. Just put on baby. They are also the most expensive. I'm talking about any where between 18-30 dollars each diaper. Yeah, that would be why I have never tried them. They also take longer to dry. Every now and then I think about making my own or buying used just to have in the diaper bag for trips. Less to pack. Maybe one day.

<--Gerber pre-folds and covers. HATE!! I Almost didn't cloth diaper because of them. The first time I used a cloth diaper was with Amie. She was 4 months old. I put the Gerber prefold on her and picked her up next then I knew she was peeing on me. It shot strait through. Yeah, they are cheap for a reason. They can hold a thing. and the covers are pointless. One you have to put them on like pants. Which is hard to do when your baby likes to kick. They are king of the bubble butt. Could they make them any rounder?? They also don't hold in anything. And they don't last very long.

<--Gerber flats. I bought some small flats that I like ok. It is very cheaply made but works ok for a newborn. I would not use it on a bigger baby. Not a very thick weave. So, will not hold much.

<--Bummis Super brite. Great!! Very cute patterns and made out of strong pull fabric. They are the only diaper cover that are great for newborns. They are so tiny. Gabriella used the newborn size for less than a month before I could no longer squeeze her in to them. They only come in Velcro. Which is ok because it is high quality Velcro. Plus they have the laundry tabs. so you don't have to ripe them off other diapers when taking them out of the dryer. The only reason they aren't my favorite is the fact that they don't have any one size fits all or even a two size fit all. So you would have to buy at least 3 of each size. Which would be very expensive.

Ok I think that is all the different kind i have tried. One day I will post some picture of how they actually look on my baby. So, you can really see how they really work.

More Cute Bums

So, I decided to make some more cloth diapers and Give some info of Cloth diapers. Call me weird but I love Cloth diapers!! They are cheap and better for baby and the environment. I have tried Pre-folds, flats, and fitteds. I have tried different kinds of covers as well. My favorite system is a hand made flannel fitted pocket (one size fits all) with a flat insert. Flats are great by them selfs, but with newborn poo the fitteds do a better job of keeping the poo in so you don't have to change the cover every time baby poos. (some people don't like pocket diapers because you have to remove the insert before washing. Which can be gross if baby poos. but I have found that if I don't remove the flat insert it just comes out in the wash. How great is that???) Oh, did I mention the fact that I have never, NEVER had a blow out with cloth diapers!! Beat that Paper Diaper!! As for covers I really like the Thirsties Duo covers. they have a great fit for newborns and you only have to buy two different sizes. Instead of 4 or 5 sizes. I also am happy with the new flip diaper covers. the inserts are great for older babies but really big on newborns. So I stick to my flats with flannel fitted. The sides are stretchy so they have a great fit. and come in really cute colors. I ordered my flip and thirsties covers from Cottonbabies.com. They have free shipping and are the makers of the Flip diaper. The pattern for the flannel one size fitted pocket diaper is free. We went to the dinosaur museum at thanksgiving point. The kids had a blast. Although Amie did have bad dreams that night. I really don't blame her. The Shark's mouth is a little to realistic for my taste. I prefer the cartoon kind.

Brie is Smiling!! I just love the real smiles. "The I just filled my diaper" smiles are cute but not as cute when they look into your eyes and smile for you and no other reason then the fact that they just adore you. Man, I love my job!!

Lleyton is now 5 years old. He is so excited to start Kindergarten this fall. Althougth he did not enjoy getting shots for School. Lleyton loves to help in the kitchen so I let him help make the cake. He loved decorating it with sprinkles and cookies. It might not be very pretty, but he had fun doing it.

Gabriella Karen Coffy

Gabriella came June 25th at 1:49pm. She has short brown and and an undetermined eye color. Sometimes they look like a dark gray blue. Other times they look green and brown. So, we will just have to wait and see what they deiced to be. I guess she just had to be different in every way. I am so glade I chose to be induced. She was 8lbs. & 15oz. If I waited any longer I might of had to have a C-section. She had some Breathing problems at first and had to be put on Oxygen for a little while. after that she spent the rest of the hospital stay in the special care nursery. Her blood sugar was low, so they had to keep her in there to get it back to normal. I am so glade that she was able to get it stabilized by the time it was time for me to go home. She is now 3 weeks old and is such a great baby. By the first week she was sleeping for 4 hr. stretches at night. By the second week she has been only waking up once at night. It is so great to finally get some sleep. I get more sleep now then I did when I was pregnant. It is also nice to finally be able to eat food like a normal person. No more heart burn, indigestion, and no more nausea. Check Rich or my Facebook for more newborn pictures. Sorry, I couldn't find them on our computer.

My Little Dancers

I enjoy listening to music while I clean and yes I dance around like a crazy person. So my kids now love to run to me when I'm cleaning/dancing around. The only way I could get any cleaning done was to make them dance with each other instead of me. Aren't they so cute!! And they are laughing together!! Lately they have been like Itchy and Scratchy (Simpsons).

This is how my Hubby spends our Friday night's together. So much for our date night. His only defence is the fact that he has to wake up really early all week. Then doesn't come home until 6pm. So, by the time Friday night comes he is pooped out!! Thank you for all the hard work you do to support our family!! I Love my old Man!!!

Girl's Camp 2009

In my ward I have the privilege of being the miamaids adviser. So this June/July I got to go to Camp. My husband was nice enough to watch the kids while I was hiking, crafting, Tent sleeping (not much) and Wishing for a shower!! I had a great time.

I'm not always the best mom. Some times my amusement over rides my goodness. This is one of those times. We were at the mall and saw a guy doing tricks with this little fuzzy pet. Lleyton thought it was cool. a few weeks later we were at wal-mart and saw the fuzzy pet in the check out ail. It was 2 bucks and being the impulses toy buys that we are we got it. When we got home I showed it to the kids. Lleyton liked it but kept his distance. Amie thought it was fun until I made it crawl out of my hand. She screamed bloody murder. I have never seen her so scard. I could not stop laughing her reaction was just so crazy. So I was evil and had to scare her once more to get it on camra. She tried to crawl her way up Daddy. I know I'm Evil.

Here comes the Bread Train!!

Lleyton is so creative!! We were eating lunch. Lleyton starts get all excited about his piece of bread. He was sliding it all over the table saying Choo-Choo!!! He made his piece of bread look like a train. He was really proud of himself. Yes, He is claping for himself in the picture.

I really look forward to making a book for Lleyton with all the different pictures of him asleep. He falls asleep in the strangest positions and places. His latest was the toilet. He came in to my room and tiredly said "Hi, Mommy". I told him to go potty just like every other morning. I got up and started to get Amie breakfast. then I walked by the bathroom to find him asleep on the toilet. Kids are so funny!!

Before I had kids I never thought of my self as clumsy. Silly yes, but butter fingers was never a nickname of mine. But now that I'm older and Wiser?? I apparently have become very clumsy. My latest blunder was a fully ready to eat lasagna. One minute I was taking it out of the oven, the next I am watching it fall to the floor with a great big splat!! We had a good laugh about it. I'm sure this Lasagna will not be my last victim. May my life be full of more Laughable moments like this!!

Lleyton was a Dragon and Amie was a Pumpkin. Lleyton had lots of fun trick or treating. At first he didn't want to leave the first house we came to. He saw the big bowl of candy that they had and wanted to stay. then we told him we had to go to a different house to get more candy. It didn't take him to long to move on from house to house. Sorry the pictures are blurry. Toddlers and babies don't hold still very well.

Amie is such a great eater. Just a LITTLE on the messy side. Here are some cute pictures of her eating. She did the walrus all by her self. She just can't help stuffing her mouth to the brim. I must be a baby thing. The one of her on the floor is a common picture in our house. We lovingly call Amie our little Vacuum. Lleyton dropped his dry cereal on the floor. Amie been the helper that she is immediately helps her brother pick up the cereal. Of course this upsets Lleyton because she eats all his cereal.

Yellow!!

Lleyton runs up to me so excited about something. He was jumping up and down saying Yellow. I did want all moms do. I just said "that great honey" and went on with my business. then, he started saying "help clean". He had baby wipes in hand and was wiping his body with them. I looked at the wipes and saw that they were yellow. I thought that was strange. So, I looked Lleyton over and realized that he is Yellow. At first I thought he was coloring on him self with crayon. but it wasn't crayon. then he brought me a stamp. He has gotten in to my stamp pad and used it to color his body. I took pictures then gave him a bath. It took a week for all the yellow to come off. So here are some pictures of my Yellow son.

I finally got my wisdom teeth out. They put me out with an IV. Not only did I get my wisdom teeth removed. They also put in 2 crowns(because of my wisdom teeth) and a ton of fillings were redone. Everything went well during the procedure except I got nauseated from the medicine and threw up on a nurse. They said it happens all the time. Two weeks later I can almost eat on both sides of my mouth. Boy does it take a long to time to heal!!! I recovered faster from having a baby then from this.

Utah State Fair

On Thursday we when to the Fair. We all had a great time. They had this great area set up for kids called Little Hands on the Farm. They start out with an apron and basket. Then they follow a trail to get some feed. Then they move on to a huge cow. Lleyton stopped dead in his tracks when he saw the big cow, the girl behind us when in front of us and showed Lleyton how to put the feed in the trough. You could even milk the fake cow. Lleyton was too intimidated by the size to be interested in milking it. then they give you a carton of milk to put in your basket. Next was the garden, you plant a seed(token) in the garden then on the other side you pick up the veggie you planted. Next was driving the tractor(tricycle). Lleyton filled it up with gas then took it for a spin. Then you sell your products at the market and they give you a play dollar, they then let you go shopping to spend your dollar. You could buy cereal or an apple. After little hands, Lleyton wanted to go down the big yellow side. Rich took him up to the top. Once they were at the top Lleyton started back down the stairs. Maybe next year I will take him and just grab him and slide. Then we went to see the farm animals. the pig in the picture was 800 lbs. WOW!! we then saw some sheep. Lleyton even got brave and Petted the sheep. next came the Cows. I can't believe I'm saying this but, those cow were gorgeous. They were all freshly groomed and glowing. I just wanted reach out and pet them. Of course I didn't be cause I'm not a farm animal petting kind of girl. Over all it was a great day. There is nothing better then spending the day with your family.

While unpacking boxes Lleyton discovered his frog Halloween costume from last year. He just had to have it on. Next thing I know he is rabbiting around the room like a frog. Kids are so fun!!

Skateboarding in the Kitchen

Lleyton has such a great imagination. Lleyton and Amie were playing in the kitchen and living room. Lletyon starts yelling Skateboard, mommy skateboard. Of course it really sounded like sketbarrd, mommy Sketbarrd. Lleyton was laying on is tommy with a plastic container that had his inside. he was pushing himself across the floor. Saying weeee, mommy weeee. I got him on cameara while he was then pushing his homemade "skateboard" across the kitchen floor.

Who says diapers are ugly. I found this great pattern to make my own cloth diapers. They are called Rita's Rump Pocket. They Turned out great. I made 17 of them. I used 3 different flannel prints from Wal-mart. It was just my luck that the flannel was even on sale. I spent less then $18. So they were just a little over a dollar for each. yeah, that is like buying a month of disposable diapers. they are a one size diaper so, they will last until potty trained. I just use my flat diapers to stuff the pockets and they work great. the stars and flower one are my favorite. the Frog one is a strange. there eyes just kind of pop out at you. Big Helper

I like to make my own baby food. To make cereal I just put some rice or oatmeal in the blender and blend away. but, my blender decided that it was not going to blend rice or oatmeal any more. So, I found an alternative. I pulled out the hand grinder and went to town. Lleyton thought it looked like fun and joined in. He had a blast taking turns winding and using a spoon to push the grains down. What a great helper he is!!

We have made it safely to UT. It was a long trip. The kids did great. Sorry, I forgot to pack my cord to my camera so i could download pictures to the laptop. My memory space is very small so I only took a few pictures before it was full. We were able to spent a few days in MO with some friends. We went to the Kansas City Zoo while we were there. I will be getting more Zoo pictures soon.

Amie is crawling!! I wanted to get her on camera so Lleyton and I where trying to entice her with all kinds of toys. She just stared at us. then she saw a sticker on the floor and started going for it. Go figure.

Update to story time with Lleyton

Lleyton is no longer allowed to have story time without strict adult supervision. A few weeks ago Lleyton was reading to Amie in her crib like normal. So, I went to do something in my room. a minutes later. Lleyton comes in my room shaking his finger at me saying "No, No, baby. That's a No No book." So I went in the kids room to see Amie destroying the book. Yes, it was a Library book. lucky for me i got it in time before more damage was done. Since it was just one destroyed page the library didn't charge me. Every time I think about what happened I just have to laugh. Lleyton gets so serous when it comes to Amie doing something that is a No, no. He is such a mother hen to her. He just loves his baby Amie.

Lleyton just loves "His" baby. Today Lleyton had story time with Amie. I heard Amie wake up from her morning nap and I also heard Lleyton talking. At first i was upset because I knew she needed to sleep longer and that Lleyton woke her up. He just hates to let her sleep during the day. So, I walked in to the room and saw Lleyton reading a book to Amie. I just had to take a picture. He is such a sweet big brother. Even thought he likes to wake her up.

Rich- Working in Utah and missing his family.

Ella- Taking care of a baby and toddler. While trying to keep the house perfect so someone will buy it.

Lleyton- getting in to everything. He is finally making progress in the Potty department. Had him naked most of the day and he is actually going on the little potty. His favorite toys are cars, trucks and Spongebob.
